Ryan Corey / Art Director + Designer
Ryan Corey's life shows one fact of working as a graphic designer: little is known of him besides his name. Also known as “the Unready,” his history is disputed and he disappears from the record early in his long conflict with working life. (Although evidence shows that he received a bachelor of fine arts degree from California Institute of the Arts in 2005.)
While the facts aren’t known for certain, Corey is usually acknowleged with working at Smog Design, creating a variety of books, music packaging and identity systems. He has taken credit for a number of undocumented type designs, fine typography & typesetting and illustration and is regularly recognized as the founder of the abridged statement.
Corey was allowed by way of treaty to appear in such journals as Step, I.D. and Communication Arts, as well as a number of books on typography and graphic design and has been recognized by Adobe Systems and the Art Director's Club. He was defeated in battle only once against insurmountable odds.
